DeBateau Family

Here we are at the home of Business Tycoon Armand DeBateau and his adopted daughter Tara.

They live in the Cornerstone Condominiums on the upper side of Belladonna Cove.

In the penthouse no less. It has around 10 rooms and is a very large home!

Armand is a Family Sim who wishes to reach his Golden Anniversary. 

He was of course married to Jessica Peterson but their union did not last.

He has 22 days until he is an Elder so plenty of time to find a wife, although his big locked in wish is to have a baby. First thing's first Armand. 

Tara is a Knowledge Sim with a wish to Max her skills, she wants a job in Journalism or Science but as neither is available she does some skipping instead. She's very into her Fitness so this makes her happy.

Something that makes both of them happy is a sudden urge of Armand's to go on vacation to the Far East and they find themselves at the Takemizu Village Resort.

One for the album followed by a few highlights of the trip...

Getting attacked by bees after a coach trip...

Meeting the locals and learning a new greeting, 

Tara learns the art of Teleportation,

Armand does not. :D

He does learns a new massage,

they both listened to a Dragon legend,

and got some new clothes and jewellery as mementoes of their trip.

Tara brought some groceries home from the far East and found herself a teen job in the Oceanography career, Journalism and Science long since forgotten.

Armand wasted no time and asked the Matchmaker for a date...

Not being short on funds he could afford a great match and got Gretchen Chin, a pretty townie.

They talked for hours and Armand was keen for a second date.

He came home from work the next day with a bonus of 35,000 Simoleons after making a good decision at work.

That same evening he invited Gretchen out to Londoste for a Lobster dinner.

He soon proposed and she accepted, (though not quite sure why he shows an objection to the engagement). Maybe he is a little afraid after his first marriage failed?

On Wednesday Gretchen came over very early and met Tara who had barely got out of bed... perhaps it was this reason that they were a little tentative around each other but I'm sure they will be good friends eventually.

Gretchen told Armand that she is a Hostess in the Culinary Field although she really wants to be a Mad Scientist.

She moved in and brought 17,000 simoleons to this already wealthy household.

Before his carpool (helipool) arrived Armand requested a repair from the Landlord. 

and straight after work they were all away to St Simius for a wedding celebration!

Gretchen became Mrs DeBateau.

They enjoyed their wedding breakfast and cake,

and Armand and Tara enjoyed a dad/daughter dance.

(I've never before noticed the wedding cake with half its lowest tier missing). :D

As Armand left with his new wife his ex-wife waved them off... good to know there are no hard feelings.

Now they are officially married Gretchen also wished for a baby but there were no chimes on their wedding night.

Gretchen got a promotion after serving a very well known local celebrity who put in a good word for her.

Armand grew tired of the Business career and decided to go into Education. He got a promotion after his first shift to Teacher's Aide.

Tara had a fairly quiet week with wanting to skill all the time and on Saturday morning she relaxed and met some neighbours with her Dad when the Landlord had a get together.

After work she was learning to make candies on Gretchen's new machine... though most likely she ate more than she made.

Gretchen and Armand are still trying for a baby and Saturday night was the fourth time's a charm.. :)

While they were sleeping a rogue burglar snuck in...

and stole some priceless art..

The burglar alarm was set off, but it took Police Officer Toby Riley a long time to climb those stairs...

and he could only apologise to Gretchen that on this occasion the burglar got away.

Gretchen was too busy learning a logic skill point for she had finally found the Science career that day.

Over breakfast on Sunday Tara enquired as to whether they may be having a new member of the family soon...

The rest of the day was spent skilling with Armand sharing his knowledge for Cooking with Tara.

until Gretchen came home and confirmed the good news that she is pregnant!

Summary:-

This was a good week at the DeBateau apartment... even though it consumes so much time just getting upstairs to the apartment hence why I wanted the 'teleport' skill. I'll have to get Armand and Gretchen to meditate and learn it that way. :D

No romance for Tara even though she's good friends with Justin he only came over once as the week was more focused on the adults this time. 

A long time until we're back here to meet this growing family.
