Julien Cooke- Round 2

 

Here we are back in Riverblossom Hills at the home of Julien Cooke.

This Popularity Sim is working his way to having 20 best friends. He's just made his 10th in LaShawn Cameron (in this 'hood she's married to Neil Cameron).

Julien inherited a small sum of funds from his first love Catherine Viejo (seems like forever ago that she passed away!) so he threw a little party for some friends and during it he'd made his 12th best friend.

Julien loves a good party- he got a great party memory.

I'm still not lost on the idea of Julien finding a partner- he has 2 bolts with Calista here but never really shows any romantic wishes.

Julien has the Culinary career reward (being a Restauranteur at present) and he loves to make (eat) candies!

On Wednesday Julien earned a Bronze badge in Gardening for tending his greenhouse plots.

He had a date-not-date (where before he can get in the taxi a pop up says 'where were you, can't believe you stood me up') so he went to the Crypt O'Nightclub anyway and larked about in the dance o'sphere.

He had a solitary dinner but had a nice chat with his server.

He also had a conversation with Robin Zarubin which resulted in her offering him discounted furnishings in the future.

One thing Julien wishes for a lot is to stargaze with his telescope- no abduction but he is earning his logic skills.

I think Julien must have gained his Silver Garden badge as he was spraying his crops but I missed the pop up.

of course you're probably wondering if Julien went to work at all, well yes he did and he brought home a colleague who networked a boost in reputation.

On Saturday morning Julien made his 15th best friend. 

He also maximised his Cooking skill.

He went off to work again but still came home as a Restauranteur. This is because he needs Creativity skills which he just hasn't had time to earn this week and he never had any chance cards come up either which may have earned him a promotion.

Later that night Julien got his first harvest of perfect oranges.

After a very busy day on the phone after work on Sunday, Julien achieved his LTW of 20 best friends!

You can see by the late hour that he just made it before Monday came around.

Summary-

I decided to concentrate on the LTW this week rather than the career/potential love match. 

Weirdly Julien has 3 bolts for Patricia O'Mackey (Wan). hmm- wish I'd known that before she married Gabe!

Rick Contrary- Freshman Year

 

Rick is at Academie Le Tour, the Desiderata Valley College.

He joined the dorm that currently has Pauline Aspir, Daniel Bell and Pauline's friend and former paperkid Justus Landry as the other playable students.

Fortune loving Rick isn't really interested in people at all, he hates socialising it seems but needs friends if he's going to become a Hall of Famer one day.

Rick soon chose Drama as his Major and knuckled down to get his term paper done.

Afterwards he joined Pauline and some other dormies in watching the game on tv.

The next morning Rick had breakfast with Pauline and Daniel, they seem to have fallen for each other without my intervention.

Rick met the cheerleader Candice Mazza.

He was in the middle of a nice conversation with her when the Cow Mascot stormed in and started a fight.

For the first time ever, that I'm aware of, the Cow Mascot won!

Rick is friends with all his housemates now,

and they finish the semester together, all gaining high grades and spots on the Dean's list.

Rick though has had enough of shared accommodation and longs to be the leader of his own place.

So he rented this lovely house on Campus.

He decided to be the first Sim to start a Greek house in Academie Le Tour.

Using the names on the letters he has called it the Nagard-Annya-Hoh House.

He went off to the local coffee house to meet and greet fellow students and look out for pledges and possible new members for his House.

Later that night the urge for free pizza got to him.

His old dormie friend Gavin Lim became his first pledge and was asked to write Rick's term paper.

It was going well then just before the paper was done Gavin got fed up and left, whether for class or fun I don't recall so Rick finished it off himself.

Later he went to the campus boutiques to meet and greet. He's socialising more than ever now :D

In just a couple of days Rick's Greek house is doing well. He only has the one pledge so far and no move-in's but next time I'm sure that will change. 

Summary-

I've always thought it odd that no Greek House was in this college but I guess the point is to create your own. Not sure of this house as it's actually a lot smaller than it looks so with eventual funds it may end up looking completely different way down the line. 

It suits Rick though as he already likes being his own boss, and bossing others about. :D

Contrary Family- Round 2

 

Moving over to Desiderata Valley this week to visit the Contrary family of adults Edward & Opal and their son teenage son Rick.

Upon opening the lot you can see that Opal desires another baby. With her being 6 days til elder the chances may be slim.

She and Edward give it a whirl but no baby chimes are heard. *whew* :D

It means she and Edward can put their concentration into skilling for their combined LTW's to become the Hands of Poseidon.

Their son Rick is a Fortune Sim, unlike his Knowledge loving parents, who wishes eventually to be a Hall of Famer.

Slightly ahead in the Oceanography career is Opal who leaves this morning for her Whale Tracker job. Edward goes later as an Underwater Demolitionist.

Rick called college for another scholarship before leaving for private school.

Edward came home after a chance card gave him a mechanical skill and a promotion to Marine Biologist.

Opal got promoted too, to Deep Sea Fisherman and they were about to celebrate with Rick when he announced he'd called a cab and was off to college! Bye Rick!

Tuesday morning began with Opal leaving for work.

Edward  got promoted to Whale Tracker, left for another shift and returned as a Deep Sea Fisherman.

More skilling for this couple then Edward left for his 3rd shift of the day where he now caught up with Opal in that they are both Protector of Whales. There was no time for sleep so he went out to the energizer....

Suddenly he spun into Elderhood... sorry Edward I forgot your birthday!

He went inside and warmed up by the fire as Winter has kicked in.

The next morning before work Wanda Tinker and Makoto St Julien called in and Edward befriended them both.

Then both he and Opal arrived home having reached the top of their careers! LTW's achieved.

Edward couldn't wait to share the news with his newest best friend Tara Kat.

Now they've both earned 25K they can afford some upgrades and I can finally put an archway between the kitchen and dining room after a little renovation. 

The living room had some new wallpaper and comfy sofas.

Thursday afternoon saw their son Rick (in red) arrive from college with his dormie friends Pauline Aspir, Daniel Bell and Justus Landry.

It's Christmas! 

Opal made a lovely holiday roast.

The Jocque family were invited over too as they are the best friends of the Contrary's and a great time was had by all.

Santa arrived much later after the couple were in bed but woke up not only to his arrival but the tree setting on fire too! Thankfully both Edward & Opal extinguished the fire while Santa ho-ho-ho'd the whole time.

Friday was the first day of Spring and so Edward started off some fruit and vegetable plots.

He invited his friend John Mole over for a chat.

He and Opal visited a store so he could be less country bumpkin and more smart elder. :)

On Saturday I remembered to throw a party for Opal!

I guess the country bumpkin look is all the rage. :D

Sunday was a day off work where the couple did their usual round of skilling.

Opal worked on a portrait.

Edward caught up with his newest acquaintance Nery Turner.

Then later earned a Bronze Garden badge for his efforts.

Summary-

Not the most exciting couple but they had a decent week with good achievements. We're off to college next to see how Rick gets on in his Freshman Year.
