The Bell Family- round 2

 

Back in Desiderata Valley at the Bell house- we were here not long ago for Sharon Wirth (Hannah's sister) but now it's back to the main family. Daniel is already in Uni, his younger brother Barty is working on a body skill whilst Mum Hannah cooks dinner.

Speaking of Sharon though, she finally rolled away her fear of commitment so I had her propose to her 3 bolt love Erik!

A garden wedding was set up immediately. Isaac looks smart in his grey suit but I think Daniel must have come straight from a Freshers fancy dress party judging by his choice of outfit and silly hat!

Erik took Sharon's surname and he had brought over 70K to the household so I gave him his money back which enabled he and Sharon to purchase their own Spanish style love nest toward the coastal end of the neighbourhood. We'll see them when we reach 'W' on the list". I can tell you though that Erik is a Fortune Sim with a LTW to be Chief of Staff- he's currently a Professional Party Guest.

I decided to use the Bell's new funds to give Barty a bedroom downstairs (Sharon's old room) and knock through the dining room to have one big kitchen/diner. I also upgraded the bathroom furniture.

On Tuesday after helping Barty with his homework Isaac had a skilling day. Hannah is already top of her career and Isaac hopes to join her next time he has a shift.

Hannah loves cookery and is happy in the kitchen today making a roast dinner.

Isaac wants to get Barty into private school and so the Headmaster is summoned for a visit. It went very well with a score of 127/90 and Barty was accepted.

On Wednesday Barty left for his new school.

and Hannah invited her best friend Pauline and her family over. Edward and Rick Contrary were invited too.

It was a full afternoon and everyone got on well and enjoyed the lunch Hannah made before they said their farewells and Hannah & Isaac left for work.

Isaac has completed his lifetime wish and will have a permanent platinum mood from now on. He's the newest World Class Ballet Dancer.

Two funny things about Barty- although he only has 2 neat points he makes his bed every morning without being asked.

Secondly he loves to chat to the paperkid, and most days keeps the school bus waiting while he does so- he often sprints the last part of the path so the bus doesn't drive off without him!

On Friday Barty brought Rafael Aspir home from school- the kids' are as close as their parents are.

Barty's dad Isaac had installed a little lake in the back yard as Barty often wished to fish.

Isaac brought a friend home from work, Roger Zhang, while Hannah was on her way to repair the computer.

Hannah did very quickly have to run to the bathroom but she survived her electrocution!

On Saturday the family went to the Kiddie Care Castle community lot.

It gave Barty an opportunity to meet some new kids and teens and Hannah's friend Juan gave her a big screen tv.

Back at home the living room got a makeover to accommodate the new tv.

While his parents were at work Barty became a teenager- his Nanny was there to cheer him into teenhood.

Barty rolled Fortune and wishes to be a Criminal Mastermind one day.

His room got a teenage makeover.

Still Saturday and after work it was time for two more birthdays. Hannah & Isaac are becoming elders- Hannah had thrown a party of course.

She grew up well having earned her permanent platinum last time.

But then this happened... I forgot the lateness of the hour,

and the cops came and broke up the party- which gave Hannah a 'this party sucked' memory and in the end it was just her and Barty left to watch Isaac grow up.

Thankfully though Isaac also grew up well, if into a very odd looking suit. :D

Still the family aren't ones to wallow and on this summery Sunday they took themselves to a community lot downtown to buy phones, clothes and meet some new people.

Barty was quite taken with Pamela Ternynck and spent ages chatting to her.

Isaac was networked some furniture discounts in the future.

While the guys went for summery looks Hannah stuck to her workout gear, it's all she seems to know. :D

Of course the trip downtown wore out our elders so they took a little nap before it was time for work.

Barty wishes for college of course so got a teen job where he will start next time. He spent the evening at the telescope hoping to see more than stars.

Summary-

A good round for the Bell family, who are growing on me! I decided it was easier to let Sharon have her own story so the rest of the week played nicely without her. 

I'm fairly sure Isaac is spelt Issac in this game but that seems wrong to me and I just can't spell it any other way than with two 'a's. Next time I'll officially change it.

Before then though I'm sticking with the Bell family to see how Daniel's first year of Uni goes.

Kevin Beare- Graduate!

 

Kevin Beare has graduated Sim State University (for what I hope is the last time :D)

He waved goodbye to the Fraternity that was his home for so long and left the newest member Jared Starchild to finish his own Senior year as well as his other housemates who had yet to run out to say farewell. 

Here is his new home in Strangetown. I lifted it from the Life Stories pack and remodelled it a tad so Kevin could afford it at 23K. I'm not so picky that I won't 'help' my Sims with funds to start them off in a home.

After that of course they are on their own to provide funds and furnish. Kevin had a few backpacked items and left himself some cash to spend.

Unkindly the game chose to give Family Sim Kevin a 'wifebeater' tee shirt, so he left straight away to get a new outfit.

Before he could get to shop at H&M Renee Andrews offered Kevin a job in Education, which so happens to coincide with his Lifetime wish to be an Education Minister someday so of course he said yes please.

As he had the rest of Monday off he stuck around and made a few friends, even getting a second 'network' from a townie called Jessica Ebadi who offered him discount on furnishings in the future.

He'd gone to the pet store from H&M and as he'd wished for one he bought himself a cat- a grey Maine Coon called Ursula.

The welcome wagon of Ophelia Nigmos, Circe Beaker and Tank Grunt arrived and spent a few hours chatting and eating.

It had been such a long day that Kevin didn't even notice Ursula sneaking onto his bed during the night- she woke up and left long before the 6am alarm on Tuesday.

Kevin left for work early on Tuesday.

Ursula wasn't lonely though as she spent the day getting walkby townies to pet and feed her snacks- although Bella Goth must not like cats as she wasn't friendly toward Ursula at all!

Kevin didn't get a promotion but did bring a colleague home.

On Wednesday Ursula left for her new job in Showbiz.

Kevin had got promoted to Elementary School Teacher and as he didn't need a skill he spent the evening teaching Ursula to speak, in order that she may secure a promotion soon.

On Thursday the Gypsy left a magic lamp for Kevin.

He couldn't wait to try it out and decided to wish for money in order that he may furnish a bit more.

Over the course of the next few hours Kevin received no less than 4 bags of cash which in total added up to 22K! With the promotion money that Ursula got when she became an Understudy his finances are looking much healthier.

He asked his college love Tiffany over but after an initial passionate embrace there were no romantic wishes and so he did the gentlemanly thing and wished her goodnight.

During the night Kevin had to get up and call the emergency services when he spotted a burglar sneaking onto his lot.

Thankfully the police apprehended the burglar and nothing of note was taken.

Kevin still cried about it on Friday morning though. 

He distracted himself though by teaching Ursula how to roll over.

Kevin had a chance card which gave him a 970 simoleon bonus and returned home as a High School Teacher.

which means hello bookcase career reward!

Poor Ursula wasn't having nearly as much luck and had been demoted, twice, due to poor choices on chance cards- still Kevin spent his Saturday morning off teaching her how to play dead.

He spent the afternoon at Sim Centre South fishing, playing games and meeting new people.

Ryan Wheeler offered Kevin higher wages from now on- thanks Ryan!

Kevin threw a party Saturday night for his male pals- Greek house old and new as well as Lazlo Curious who he'd met at the pet store.

While Kevin made best friends with Merlin Louie his other friends all got friendly over the burgers Kevin had cooked.

It was a roof raising party and a good time was had by all.

On Sunday there were clean and repair jobs to tackle.

and Kevin taught Ursula to 'come here'.

He then made a large saucepan of chili con carne.

and invited Tiffany and the girls over for lunch.

of course Brittany Upsnott left the Greek house already so it was just the other residents, Heather Huffington, Katy Hunicke and Nicole & Kelly Traver who came along.

Although Kevin and Tiffany had a fling in college they really have zero attraction. Pink haired Katy here though is very attractive to Kevin. Having said that I recall she has a few 3 bolt possibilities so I will wait until her turn on the list until I decide her fate. :)

Kevin's lunch date though went on way into the evening and after the girls left he crawled into bed a very tired but happy man after his first week in the 'real world'.

Summary- It's always fun to play a single sim after big households or dorms but Kevin did have a good week in the end and was never alone having bought Ursula early on. This family sim wants love and a family though so hopefully next time he'll find someone.
