The Baldwin Family- Round 2

 

Here we are in Belladonna Cove for the first time this round and at the apartment of the Baldwin family. Dad Benjamin, his wife Isabel, teen Sofia and little Marcus.

The first thing I did was move them into a house! Their apartment was ok but it took so long for them to get downstairs and often they'd take their food outside as well so a new home it is!

I built the house from the intro movie to scale. I was so disappointed back when the game launched that it wasn't included! Of course I had to guess at how the front and inside may have looked.

It really seems a party house so it's a big open plan kitchen area, separate living room and downstairs shower room.

Upstairs are two bedrooms with en-suites. I will remove the double in the smaller room and add two singles for the kids' for now.

Most of the family immediately left for school and work but Family sim Isabel had the day off. She had previously moved one step closer to her dream of being Captain Hero and is currently a rank 7 Lieutenant.

Popularity sim Benjamin later got promoted thanks to a chance card to Top Secret Researcher in the Science field. He really wants to be in Journalism but has yet to find the career.

Benjamin went off for a second shift and Isabel greeted the welcome wagon of Lydia Rutherford and Theresa Weir, wives of Geoff and Connor respectively. Christopher Tang walked by too and was greeted.

Sofia and Marcus chill out on the swings after school.

Sofia went off to her teen job but Marcus joined his parents in a successful Headmaster visit.

After work Sofia took advantage of the massive pool to work on her body skill.

She's super fit now.

Tuesday saw the kids having some fun before school with their parents.

Benjamin had a decision to make....

He chose well and earned a big bonus!

Isabel invited Geoff and Lydia Rutherford over... Geoff obviously likes keeping fit as he broke out his skipping rope.

Isabel used her career reward to earn another cleaning skill.

Sofia, who is a Pleasure sim wishing to have 50 first dates (eek) reached the top of her teen career as she also wishes for college and scholarships.

On Wednesday Benjamin found the Journalism career and starts this morning.

He got his first promotion and was home in time for his Elder birthday!

He's already feeling the aches and pains!

It's a joint party as Marcus is now a teenager. He rolled Fortune and wishes to be a Business Tycoon one day.

Of course Marcus also wishes for college and lots of scholarships so took advantage of Autumn for some skilling. No abduction- yet.

Sofia brought a friend home from school, she's really interested in girls over boys and last time had a date with the paperkid if I recall. Simon stayed a while though until Sofia left for her teen job. Marcus too found himself a teen job.

Being in private school already started Marcus at the second level job and after just one shift at the hospital he'd reached the top.

Promotions too for Benjamin and Isabel as they all enjoy a family dinner.

Another chance card for Isabel on Thursday.

Yes, good guess. 

She may be a tough Police Chief but Isabel loves to play with the family Womrat.

Benjamin had a good day too and is a Fact Checker on Friday.

Unfortunately Marcus caught a cold at work but his Mother's homemade soup hit the spot.

On Saturday while Isabel was at work the rest of the family went to buy some new clothes.

Benjamin got rid of his summer shorts for a more seasonal appropriate outfit.

Back home and Isabel has done it! She achieved her lifetime wish of becoming Captain Hero.

Just in time for her Elder birthday!

She gave a cheeky wink as she transitioned.

It was nice for her to share her birthday with her Uncle Carlos.

It was all a bit much for Benjamin who fell asleep in the cake.

Sunday morning saw Sofia leave for college.

We'll catch up with her Freshman year next.

Benjamin bought Isabel a fancy car but this Superhero doesn't need wheels to go to and from work! She celebrated her first successful day as Captain Hero then her, Benjamin and Marcus carried on working on skills and friendships ready for their next week.

Summary-

Normally I grow sims up as soon as I get the notification but I held out for Benjamin and Isabel. Benjamin more so he could find his job, and he was lucky that he did. I may have to break my 'retire at 70' rule for him, we will see.

Sofia earned some good scholarships so I decided to start her college journey sooner. Marcus will have to wait until at least next round.

The Aspir family- round 2

 

Here we are in Desiderata Valley for the start of round 2 at the Aspir family.

I decided it was time to change things a little as the Aspir's now had twin sons to fit in somewhere and keeping their cribs in the hallway wasn't really working.

So I opened up the kitchen & dining room into one, added a door and a second walkway through to Luis' 'Grandad' flat where I moved the bathroom and added two rooms for the twins. Luis still has plenty of space, I just removed his kitchen and the upstairs which just had a desk and magic lamp.

After playing a day the game crashed so I had to replay some of it. I removed the remote control car which Luis had attempted to play when the crash happened and it seemed fine.

He's here with his daughter-in-law Elizabeth, a Fortune sim who wishes to be Head of SCIA one day but is currently in the Business field. She's cheering her daughter Pauline's first A+. 

Luis met Talin and Talin gave Luis a big screen tv, which Luis generously popped into his grandaughter's backpack.

Luis' son Victor is a Family Sim who, like his wife, wishes to become Head of SCIA. Last round they looked for the job everyday and didn't find it, so maybe they will get lucky this time. While Victor works on a cooking skill his twin sons Rafael & Alejandro make best friends whilst at the activity table.

Using the pc in his Daughter's bedroom Victor (and shortly after Elizabeth) found the Intelligence career on Tuesday morning.

Victor has better skills and will start later today as a Reconnaissance Communicator whilst Elizabeth will start as a Gumshoe.

Over breakfast Pauline told her parents that she gained a logic skill from her spelling bee yesterday.

They agreed she could stay up a little later than normal and watch a movie after dinner tonight.

Luis had been outside working on the garden when he got so cold he almost froze. A mug of hot chocolate sorted him out.

Elizabeth got promoted to Private Eye and brought Marcel Jocque home with her. She's earned 10K now.

She was home just in time to see her sons grow up- first Rafael.

Then Alejandro- they both grew up well.

They went outside for a while with their Mum to skill, then Luis decided to use his railway table and the game crashed again.

I went back in and deleted said table- and thankfully no more crashes over the rest of the week and I had just saved so no time lost.

Luis spends a lot of time at his draughtsman table, he already drew a sketch of the car he'd restored last round.

Before school on Wednesday the siblings watched the cooking channel.

Victor was promoted to Rookie Field Agent. He got a nice welcome home hug from Pauline who had brought Barty Ball home with her.

The Headmaster had a second visit here, this time for the twins and he happily accepted them.

Luis helped Rafael with his homework while Alejandro had help from his dad.

The early hours of Thursday saw Luis playing red hands with Pauline.

It put her in a good enough mood to grow up! Her dice chose Knowledge and she wishes to be an Education Minister someday.

She got a new bedroom more suited to her age but with a nod to the pink she wore for so long as a child.

She went to buy a cellphone and gaming device as well as a new outfit.

Then met a few local teens.

Although Rafael & Alejandro are twins they aren't identical. Their lips are a different shape. I will change their appearances next time though as I kept getting them muddled up.

Elizabeth is promoted to Surveillance Operator and walked off for a second shift.

Knowledge lover Pauline really wants college and really wants the extraterrestrial scholarship so has started searching the skies.

No luck for Pauline but better luck for Elizabeth coming home from her second shift as a new Reconnaissance Communicator.

She brought John Mole home and chatted a while but it was very late so he had to leave.

Victor is quietly moving up the ranks too and is the newest Field Agent.

Now that winter is over the area where Luis had his railway track has been removed and replaced with a small allotment. The twins both love Nature and soon they will start growing and tending the plants.

A big cheer on Friday from Luis when his Grandsons get their first A+. He'd just made a cake so they really had a celebration.

Elizabeth has caught up with Victor and is also a Field Agent. (She'd come home earlier as a Rookie Field Agent but a second shift boosted her once more).

Victor too got a promotion and he'll be going off to work next week as a Double Agent.

The weekend was free for both our 'spies' and Elizabeth worked on her Silver sewing badge after making several sets of curtains- some more successful than others. She made herself a nice new outfit too.

Pauline should be working on skills for college but every time I leave her alone she's playing her game.

But more skygazing later and she did get abducted thus earning her scholarship.

Luis came out to see if she was ok but she was already gaming again. Maybe her LTW should have been to become a Gamer. :D

On Sunday Luis invited his cousin Natasha Una and her husband Jonathan over.

Luis (whose secondary Aspiration is Grilled Cheese) made Grilled Cheese sandwiches for everyone. Nice to see Pauline so friendly with her brothers.

A little later Luis got the family to pose on the deck.

He does love to draw.

He immortalized them in a sketch that he framed and put on the living room wall.

Summary-

I'm glad I figured out the cause of the crashes- for good measure I also sold the remote controlled helicopter- I've always found that and the car a real pain for routing anyway.

Luis is now 101, seems to be permanently platinum and is quite happy keeping himself busy around the house with his drawing and helping with the kids. I had a Nanny early on but I felt that was buggy too as no sooner than one left, another arrived and so she was quickly fired off after it happened several times.

Victor & Elizabeth are working well toward their goal. It's quite the competition to see who will reach the top of career first!

Pauline now needs to put the gaming device down and study for college! The twins are just having fun but skilling lots too.
