Burb Family

 

Here we are in Pleasantview to visit with the Burb's. They have 'escaped city life in order to enjoy fresh air', according to their little write up.

I bought this house for them, one I've never played.

There isn't much money for furniture so I buy the basics and wait for them to a) earn some money, and b) wish to buy stuff.

Jennifer of course is a Fortune Sim, and in a lifetime want I rarely see wishes for 6 Pets to reach the top of a Career. She immediately starts chatting to the paper delivery kid.

John meanwhile has placed the computer gift on a desk in the hallway.

John is a Family Sim, his LTW is to have 6 Grandchildren! His current wishes are all for jobs though which makes him a good provider I guess.

Jennifer too of course desires a career for herself and she met townie Brittany Wendland who pulled some strings and offered Jen a job in the Music industry, not even an entry level job.

Jen jumped at the chance and less than an hour later her carpool arrived.

Meanwhile John was home to greet the Welcome Wagon made up of Darren Dreamer and Herb & Coral Oldie.

I missed the interaction between them but whatever Coral did it sent poor Herb into a nervous breakdown.

While John chatted to Coral she pretended not to notice her husband's odd behaviour in the background.

John ordered pizza for everyone.

Once he'd taken it inside things appeared to be back to normal between the elderly couple.

well....almost.

Then Lucy arrived home and who should stroll by but Darren's son Dirk.

Darren ran straight outside to his son and they engaged in a fun pillow fight.

The guests stayed so long that it was really past Lucy's bedtime but she needed her dad to help her with her homework.

Once Lucy was in bed John finally started a vegetable patch in the garden... he remembers in his youth how he loved to help his parents Brad & Tiffany in their garden.

When Jen arrived home John was keen to add to their family given his LTW, Jen however is too firmly fixed on her own LTW and gave John a resounding 'No'! 

Neither have shown a wish for a baby, most unusual for John so I shall have to think of other means to get him his Grandchildren. :D

The next morning Jen popped down to the Planetary Pet Store.

She ventured over to the cat stall first (I figured I'd let her choose cat or dog) and came home with these cuties, in front is Female cat Lara and the 'Bandit' cat who I hope to be her mate is called Zorro. 

So they need a little training.... :D

Jen gets them both jobs... Lara is in Showbiz and Zorro here is in Service. Jen starts teaching some skills.

John has been working hard on his Bronze badge in the Garden and per his wish to fish I sectioned a small area beside the veggie plot for a little pond.

He also won't stop wishing for a job and so he took a position in the Oceanography career. Early starts and short days suit with childcare at the moment.

When John is home he's either Gardening or studying but he has time to cheer Lucy's first A+.

She met Gabriella Newson and invited her to tea.

John ordered pizza again... he hasn't started on those cooking skills yet but is slowly getting promoted and relies on the recently hired Nanny to cook for Lucy.

Jen is doing great though and is now a Summer Camp Music Teacher.

Both pets have had one promotion through Chance cards so far.

On Thursday the cats finally notice each other!

While Jennifer chats to a townie Lucy does a bit of training before school.

and after school she brings home her little classmate.

He's there to see Lucy become a teenager.

She rolled FAMILY...her LTW is to graduate 3 kids from college! I've never played Lucy as a family sim so that will be different. 

She walked to the local clothing store to buy some new clothes ready for the Autumn and has a quick check around to see if any local boys take her fancy... she quite likes Randy London but time will tell.

Here's Lucy with her new look.. she gives it a round of applause so that's something. :D

Jennifer meanwhile is now a Roadie and has earned her 5K.

She brought fellow Roadie Sanjay home and launched into a bit of gossip about her brother Daniel Pleasant.

On Saturday the Cats are finally friendly enough to try for Kittens!

Jennifer comes home with yet another promotion... she's a Studio Musician now.

John incidentally is a Marine Biologist... I guess I keep forgetting his promotions. :D

Lucy invites her good buddy Dirk over... it's a cute co-incidence that they are wearing matching colours eh.

Lucy is sneaking out!

It's not Dirk, no, but her friend Sonny Cho that she met and befriended earlier at the dress store.

The ability to 'walk to work' is something I use a lot and so it enables Jen to fly though her career, she's now a Concert Pianist.

Luckily she was so exhausted she fell into bed just before Lucy snuck back onto the lot. 

They had a Sunday brunch of pancakes... Jen thinks Lucy must have been up really late studying and Lucy doesn't disagree. :D

After Brunch Jen takes care of the very red bills that were forgotten. Just in time too!

Then she made a call and invited her brother over. 

He brings his wife Mary-Sue and Mother-in-Law Coral Oldie.

hmmm... I have this weird feeling I may have added her and Herb to the Pleasant house... haha Daniel will love that when I get around to playing them. :)

A lovely time was had by all and they said their goodbyes.

Jen changed into her Autumn outfit and gave her bandit cat Zorro a good hug to finish the week!

Whew...lots going on this week at the Burb's. 

I definitely heard 'bells' when the cats went into the cat shed so next time we should have a bunch of kittens to help Jen with her LTW.

Her and John won't be having any more children I've decided so I'll find another way for him to have Grandkids... Lucy... haha and maybe lots of planting next time. :D
 

Lucy was pretty easy, liked to skill and chatter... :)

We're going to be staying in Pleasantview as next up is the Caliente sisters!
