Marla Biggs- Round 2

We are in Pleasantview to see the start of the lives of Marla Biggs and Tom Freshe who autonomously fell in love and moved here after Graduation.

They bought this modest house in the neighbourhood.

It's quite sparse, open living/kitchen area separated by the staircase and a cloakroom.

They could afford some furnishings and a decent fridge.

They had a couple of items backpacked which made the living room area more comfortable.

Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, with the potential eventually for a third bedroom.

I changed the walls and floors and added their few luxuries, double bed, decent bath/shower and wardrobe as well as Marla's robot making bench.

Fortune Sim Tom is a big nature lover so lots of funds went into buying fruit trees and plots, a pond and a decent fence.
Tom's LTW is to have 6 pets reach the top of their career whilst Marla's is to become a World Class Ballet Dancer.

Knowledge lover Marla therefore will be the breadwinner of the family, she didn't find Dance today but chose Culinary for now.

The first thing they did was to be invited on an outing and here they are at my new community lot The House of Blues, loosely based on a holiday place I like in real life.

It's a restaurant with a bar and live music.

and just like in real life there is quite a wait for a table!

As is usual the party is split over several tables but the food is amazing. The outing was a success.

Not wanting to go home yet Tom asked Marla on a date where they got engaged and sat on the booth chairs whispering sweet nothings to one another.
I genuinely found some new interactions with them sitting on these chairs, is it something only when on a date you can do or is it the booth chairs themselves? I shall have to investigate further as the round goes on.

They were back home to welcome the welcome wagon of Daniel Pleasant, Dina Caliente and John Burb who stayed for the rest of the day, Marla had a shift at work where she was promoted to Hostess and then she and Tom fell into bed, exhausted.

On Tuesday they decided to throw a wedding party in the garden.

Here are the new Mr & Mrs Biggs (decided by a coin toss which renders the name 'Freshe' obsolete now)

It was a great party and the newlyweds were still dancing as their guests departed. Tom wished for a baby but we will put that on hold for a while!

On Wednesday Marla chose Education (still no Dance) as her diploma gave her a little jump up the ladder and they really need the funds, yes Marla I know the outfit sucks. :D

Tom spent the morning gardening.

Then he went off for a little outing back to the House of Blues with a bunch of friends.

After that he went to Pleasantview's Main Street Shop to buy more clothes.

Autumn has arrived so Tom needed a warmer outfit.

Marla came home with a promotion to University Guest Lecturer.

On Thursday Marla helped Tom sweep some leaves before she left for work.

Tom had a nice chat with Coral Oldie.

Marla was asked whether or not she approved of weather enhancing machinery and gave a solid lecture debating the points which gave her a nice bonus.

She arrived home as a High School Principal and her and Tom did the usual 4pm phone calls to their feeling-a-bit-left-out friends. :)

Early on Saturday (Not a lot happened Friday) Marla found the Dance career, she will start as a Sim Jazzer Instructor later today.

Which will be a very loooong day as Marla and Tom are first off on their belated honeymoon!

Here they are at the 3 Lakes Resort- staying at the 3 Lakes Cabins, a lot I'm not sure I've ever used before. Weird. :D

They had fun at the Lumber Mill resort log rolling,

then axe throwing, meeting new people and learning new customs.

At the Smooth Rock Spa they learned massage, the slap dance and chilled in the hot pools.
(incidentally Tom once again wished for a baby so I have locked his wish now).

They spent some time at the cabin home of Amar Bigfoot.

He decided to move in!

of course no vacation is complete without a fight and it looks like one of the Vijayaker sisters' again!

Marla and Tom decided to move accommodation to this fancy hotel (owing to Marla finding a treasure chest), the other lot was ok but took ages to get anywhere as it was built on lots of different levels and there wasn't a great deal to do there.

Not to be outdone by his wife Tom found his own treasure chest!

They spent their last day relaxing.

True to his word Amar Bigfoot was at their gate upon arrival home. He moved to his own place though and we'll have his story next as he's technically only one letter away from the Biggs, even if it's the wrong direction. :D

Marla had left for work and Tom decided it was time to crack on with his LTW of having 6 pets reach the top of their careers. He played with Noodle until he could adopt him.

He did not realise that Noodle was an Elder cat and could not find a job, so he sadly had him taken to the shelter. Poor Noodle, look at his little face looking up at Tom the Traitor. :D

On Sunday as Marla (now a Pop n Lock Performer) didn't have to work until later they went down to the pet store where Tom spent some of his Treasure chest funds buying Neo the ginger cat.

Marla left for work and Tom played with Neo all day,

He also taught him to Speak, which is the first command he needs to know for his new job in the Showbiz career.

Marla finished the week with a promotion to Video Dance Star!

Summary-
Another fun week. You may wonder why I don't use the computer for Lifetime Wish jobs- I feel that for this round it's more of a challenge for a Sim to use the newspaper and start at a lower level, plus it takes longer for them to find their actual career! I'm not averse to them using it for any other job like with Marla and Education as they did need the funds rather desperately (and I really like the bookcase career reward).

Tom and Marla have had a good start together and if I remember correctly there was an assignation in the Sauna whilst on holiday so next round it will be more pets, and possibly babies!

  1. It was a fun round to read, too! As I have never really played one of the Bigfoots, I am looking forward to seeing what Amar is up to in your game.
Always good to see familiar faces on the community lots. Funny that one of the friends Tom went to eat out with was still in their graduation robes :-)
I like Marla and Tom's house, and they make a nice couple who will make an equally nice family once they start to have children.

    1. Yes Tom's friends obviously came straight from their latest graduation party, :D
I've never played either Sim before so am looking forward to their future together.
