Oldie Family

Here we are at the Pleasant household in Pleasantview, but for the Oldie Family.

When I set up the 'hoods I'd quite forgotten that I put Herb and Coral in with their adopted daughter Mary-Sue and her family. :D

In order to accommodate 2 more Sims I changed the layout a little at this side of the house. The entryway walls have come down to make a bigger kitchen and off to the side of the staircase is Herb & Coral's bedroom. I added a large table and a desk and whilst not in this photo I added shower/baths to both downstairs cloakrooms. The upstairs remains the same except I gave Angela a more comfortable bed.

Here are Herb & Coral Oldie. Herb is a Romance Sim with a wish to have 20 simultaneous lovers- not going to happen Herb. :D

He also wanted a job in the Slacker field and he found it straight away.

Coral is a Family Sim but with a wish to have 50 dream dates- I doubt I'd have time to do that either. :D

Coral wants to learn to cook and clean.

While Coral goes off to the bookcase Herb tried to start a conversation with his granddaughter Lilith, they don't have much in common yet... but then Lilith doesn't seem to have anything in common with any of her family. :D

Daniel is also a Romance Sim, he wishes to be a Hall of Famer and is well on his way as he's already high up in the career as an Assistant Coach. He needs some body skills for promotion and uses his day off to make a start.

Of course he had a pre-programmed 'thing' with Maid Kaylyyn Langeraak but with his mother-in-law watching over him he can't act upon it so he'll put that on hold for now.

Coral made some lunch while Herb called his friend John Burb. John is married to Daniel's sister Jennifer.

The twins came home from school and Lilith has a rubbish report card.

Angela of course gets her first A+ and a cheer from her family. Lilith found a job in Athletics, like her Dad she wants to be a Hall of Famer although both twins are Popularity Sims.

Angela brought Dustin Broke home, he's her teenage crush although she shows no wishes to be romantic with him.

Mary Sue is a Fortune Sim who just got a wish fulfilled when she earned some money from her Politics job- this isn't where her heart lies though and she needs to look for a new job.

Daniel got super fit after a whole day of working out.

Coral tried to befriend Lilith too but they still haven't found a common ground.

Herb must have made some inroads though as he accepted Lilith's plea for homework help whilst Daniel helped Angela with her assignment.

When they are alone Daniel and Mary-Sue are completely drawn to each other!

Early the next day (Friday) Mary-Sue found the Architecture career she so desired.

Angela served up burnt pancakes... yum.

Lilith met Jonah Powers from Uni... whilst neither Twin has rolled a wish for college yet it doesn't hurt to start making a few contacts.

Lilith put to use her Dad's career reward and started earning body skills.

In fact before work and school it's a hive of activity today, you can see Mary-Sue is just off to work in her new uniform.

Coral is the only one home so she invited her friend Mortimer Goth over who brought his friend (really Morty?) Don Lothario who is still sporting a sunburn from his Island getaway.

Herb came home with a promotion to Gas Station Attendant and brought his colleague Amy Cormier with him. Mary-Sue is now a bricklayer thanks to a chance card which means she can walk off back to work.

The twins brought friends home from school.

Mary-Sue treated herself to a new suit with her second promotion of the day to Foreman and the family enjoyed not burnt pancakes thanks to Coral.

Lilith showed Coral how to do the Smustle on Saturday morning.

A little later the twins invited friends over and they all got smustling!

They enjoyed a lovely cake that Coral made for them. What a Grandma!

Daniel had a chance card today which gave him 3 logic and 2 charisma skill points! He earned his first 5K and got promoted to Coach.

Poor Angela got fired after a bad decision in her Journalism job.

Good news for Herb though, he brought a colleague home and a promotion to Record Store Clerk- and for the record Herb is not in an Elder career, which is odd as I never 'cheated' him an adult job. :)

Angela threw a party to cheer herself up and Lilith and Dirk can't stop holding hands. For someone supposed to be 'tough' Lilith is a big softie.

It was a great party that went on 'til late, but not late enough to be broken up by the police.

"oh yummy, burnt pancakes again" said Daniel. :D

Lilith woke up on Sunday with a wish to do homework! What is happening?! She couldn't find hers so did Angela's instead.

Angela was fine with it as she was busy raking up leaves in the yard.

Only the men are working today so the girls get some nice conversation in, and yes! Finally I've discovered that the whole family like to talk about Culture. Mary-Sue fancies her hand at the Violin I think whilst Lilith enjoys the new piano they bought.

After work on Sunday (and with a chance card that gave him 2 more (wasted) Charisma points (his bar was full) and 2 more logic (which was good) Daniel reached the top of the Athletic Career! He's now permanent platinum and 1 day from Elder.

Herb is a Party D.J after pulling a few double shifts. He got 2 charisma skill points from a chance card too. He went back to work the evening shift.

Lilith too reached the heights of her teen career. Angela has not yet found her job again.

Coral greeted Makoto St Julien and after a lengthy chat he offered her a job in the Medicine career and as it's not 'entry level' she took it.

So she left for her first night shift on Sunday evening. Time will tell if hers is also an adult job or not!

Summary;-

I decided to just play Thursday to Sunday so I can come back here when it's the Pleasant 'turn' on the list and will finish their week off then.

I really enjoyed playing this busy household and was actually surprised that Lilith didn't 'run away' as she has many times before in my game due to a lack of relationships with her family but perhaps all the family dinners made their relationships increase if but a little.

Won't be too long before we're back here!

  1. That was indeed a busy week with the Pleasant-Oldie family! I don't think I have ever had Lilith "run away" when I played them, but it is nice that she didn't do it this time. Instead it looks as if they all enjoyed their meals together, and when their grandma made cake, the sisters even sat down together with their boyfriends :-)

  2. It's quite nice to let the Sims figure out their own personalities rather than relying on the game to do it. Angela was quite often about to poke or shove Lilith but I distracted her so maybe she's the mean sister after all?!
I've never merged these families before so it's been nice to have the 3 generations.
