Jacob Martin- Freshman Year

 

Here we are at La Fiesta Tech which is located in Riverblossom Hills to welcome Jacob Martin to University!

Jacob has moved into a small 5 bedroom dorm. The first dormie he met was Shenene Wilkie.

Then Hunter Leelaporn.

Lauren Hamilton joined next.

and finally Renaud Smith. A good mix of boys and girls.

Of course the dorm cook keeps them all well fed which is good for Jacob as the only real skill he has is Creativity at the moment.

After declaring Art as his major (this Popularity Sim wishes to be a Media Magnate) he visited the Mirage Shopping Centre on Campus, bought a phone and Magazines and met some fellow students.

Jacob learnt some new topics for conversation. I'm never quite sure how this works as it seems the more you learn in one subject, the more you lose in others... so I try to keep a good mix of each subject. 

Jacob is getting to know his fellow dormies.

He also meets and greets anyone who passes by.

and of course he's good friends with his Professor, who always comes and rings the bell.

Jacob hasn't forgotten his friends back home and invited Melody over to the dorm in the hope that she may wish to join him one day.

He's got lots in common with Kerie Bradshaw too.

Jacob also invited Sandra over later that day, he likes to keep his future options open! 

As seems to often be the case in Uni a fellow student will drop down anywhere to do an assignment! Jacob is desperate for a shower after working out hard today for body skills.

A little later he joined Lauren and Hunter watching the cooking channel.

and his first exam of the semester is over!

Jacob's Professor is proud of the hard work he put in and they are very good friends, but purely platonic.

To let loose a bit Jacob went downtown to the Crypt O'Nightclub. He met some new folks and enjoyed some dancing.

He made a bit of a fool of himself falling out of the dance o'sphere but then most Sims do!

He also enjoyed a nice steak dinner while chatting to his server.

William Williamson walked past and stopped for a chat.

Nature lover Jacob started his own garden. This Uni is set to have just Spring and Summer seasons so the garden should thrive in the sunshine although thunderstorms are frequent.

As the resident Streaker ran off Jacob made a best friend.

He and Shenene are great friends too and Jacob got 'stuck' with a dancing face. :)

Catching fireflies gave a bit of a green glow to the porch in the evening.

It's party time! This is the first time Jacob has wished to throw a party and he invited his friends over as well as his fellow dormies joining in.

Melody came to the party and they enjoyed a good dance.

As Daisy Greenman left the room Jacob got his great party memory.

Another best friend for Jacob. He gets a good nights' sleep in his Dad's old bed which he was gifted before leaving for Uni.

and final exam time is here, and done. That's Freshman Year over for Jacob.

Summary.

A good first year for Jacob. I didn't have him find a love interest as I am hoping to move both Sandra and Melody in during the course of the round to see if there are still attractions between any of them. Heh, maybe I should put Jules O'Mackey in there too? :D

Martin- Andrew.... 2 weddings, 2 funerals and 2 ghosts.

 

Here we are back at the Viejo household, this time for Andrew Martin.

It's the very early hours of Monday morning and Andrew's teenage son Jacob is just sneaking back home after sneaking out with his buddy Melody Tinker at 1am.

I have Jacob call for any scholarships he has earned and send him straight to college where we will catch up with his Freshman Year next.

Andrew keeps throwing hearts Catherine's way... because she's a Romance Sim or because he really likes her?

If you remember last round he actually really likes Denene Simpson.

Denene brought a friend over and they spent some time chatting with Betty.

While Catherine tends to her beloved garden Betty whips up a Baked Alaska.

Then the Roth's come over for afternoon tea and chatter.

I had Catherine change her appearance and get rid of the 'old' facemask. Then she and Andrew autonomously fell in love...

and so I figured...

Betty got a nice boost of aspiration when she earned a cooking skill.

It made her want to win a cookery competition so she travelled to Sue's kitchen and entered her famous Baked Alaska.

Yes, she celebrated in style (and not at all modestly) when she won first prize!

Meanwhile Catherine was in her happy place determined to gather all her crops before Winter set in.

Andrew, a Fortune Sim with a LTW to earn 100K is in the Gamer career and has just maxed his logic skill which should help with promotion.

Betty is supposed to be helping her friend with the garden but is really just having fun playing in the leaves.

She decided to ask her friend Leod over on a date for some more 'fun'. :D

After Leod left Andrew arrived home having been demoted when he picked the wrong choice on a chance card.

and just in time to see Betty greeted by Grimmy & The Hula's.

It may have been a short life for Betty (65 days old) but she grabbed her Mojito with a smile and set off into the unknown. She left inheritance to 6 people.

awww, Leod dropped by just after to bring a bouquet of roses...

and later still a pinball machine. 

Poor Catherine misses her friend.

She decided to give Andrew all the contents of her backpack, lots of fruit and veg and a few aspiration rewards as she started to think about her own Mortality. 

Catherine loves her hot chocolate. It keeps her warm when she's out in the garden day and night.

She hired a Gardener the next day as it was getting to be a struggle to maintain such a large garden herself.

Morty Roth is her new best friend.

On Thursday Andrew got a promotion this time. He went inside to make some calls and take a shower.

Meanwhile Catherine showed her in-the-zone Glow as dusk arrived.

along with Grimmy & The Hula's.

aww bye Catherine. Like Betty she was 65 days old and died with a smile on her face. She left inheritance to 5 people, her husband Andrew getting a 20K share.

Poor Andrew had to get on the phone and inform all their friends of his second sad loss this week.

He had a little cry when he stocked the juicer of all Catherine's hard earned goodies.

The next morning he thought once more of Catherine before making a phone call...

To Denene! My how quickly our Sims move on... :D

They were married in the shade of an Apple Tree, the new(est) Mr & Mrs Viejo.

I decided to keep Andrew's 'formal' hair permanently.

Denene is also a Fortune Sim (hence their 3 bolts) and wishes to become Chief of Staff, she's already a G.P in the Medical profession, she brought 2K simoleons to the house and a couple of backpack items.

The couple went off to Amelia's closet where Denene chose some new clothes and they spent a while socialising with some of their neighbours.

Andrew asks the all important question of whether the new Viejo household may grow anytime soon?

I changed the kitchen around a little to accommodate both tables as I was fed up of the Sims taking food outside all the time to the bistro table.

It's Saturday! Andrew had the desire to throw a party. He needs 8 friends for promotion and since the loss of Betty and Catherine only has 5 so he sets to work making some more.

Talking of work he had to leave the party to go for a shift.. so the onus fell on Denene.

She stepped up quite admirably and even managed to Network herself a promotion next time she goes to work (Monday).

Denene did befriend Andrew's son Jacob though.

and as the party broke up Denene had managed to secure the household 8 friends.

which was enough for Andrew to reach the top of the Gamer career.

Denene knows she will get a promotion next time thanks to her Networking but it doesn't hurt to test out her career reward anyway.

On Sunday it's the second day of Winter and the heavy snow arrived!

Andrew was determined to sow his former wife's crops though and in succeeding he got himself a Bronze badge in Gardening.

The newly pregnant Denene came from the wardrobe and I noticed her red eyebrows!

So I changed her hair to match and she gave a very big cheer!

She then spent the day eating and throwing up but managed to sit in front of a cosy fire and watch a movie.

Jacob came over for supper.

Can you spot something through the window? No not the Gardener leaving at this late hour but the ghost of Betty (thinking about Jacob).

ah, she came straight in the house after Jacob left and just as the couple were going to bed she scared Andrew!

Catherine's ghost too came out and she wandered around her old garden thinking longingly of her hot chocolate!

Summary-

Well this was a fun round! I didn't intend for Andrew and Catherine to marry but once they fell in love while I wasn't looking I thought it would be nice for a Viejo to continue living in the 'Viejo' household.

I'll be back here when we reach 'V' on the alphabetical list as it's quite a way off so we will see Denene and Andrew again this round for the third visit to this house (and no doubt we'll see Betty and Catherine too!).

We will be going to college next though to see how Jacob gets on.
