Cooke Family

Here we are at the modest home of Julien Cooke in Riverblossom Hills.

Julien is a Fast Food Shift Manager... he loves everything food related!

Julien whipped up a chili con carne for lunch...

Just in time for the welcoming committee that comprised Peter Ottomas, Mary Gavigan and Patricia Wan.

Julian's home is fairly sparsely furnished but he has a decent bed and top of the range bathroom furniture.

On Tuesday Patricia Wan and Cleo Shikibu came over for a chat. I should've mentioned that Julien is a Popularity Sim with a wish to have 20 best friends.

After his first shift he brought home Meadow Pederson who gave him a free sample of a TV, if that doesn't make you instant friends I don't know what does. :D

Off to work with a spring in his step, 

After which he made friends with Gilbert Jacquet, a fellow chef.

Julien's interests are rather singular and so he went to Belle's Boutique to buy some magazines to broaden his topics of conversation. 

He meets and greets everyone he sees.

When he's not chatting with neighbours Julien is cooking... not always successfully.

Still, all that cooking earned him a spot at Sue's Kitchen and so he thought he'd try his luck at a cooking competition....

Julien served up some Crepes, his fellow contestants made Spaghetti and Salmon whilst the head chef made a Baked Alaska.

The judge seemed impressed with Julien's entry...

But awarded the Head Chef the first prize this time. 

Julien took it very well, he's not a sore loser and asked the chef for some culinary tips.

After he'd returned home he had a call from one of his fellow contestants for an outing and so they went to try the cuisine at Bernard's Botanical Dining Downtown.

They tried a variety of dishes between them,

and a good time was had by all.

Someone left Julien a telescope as a thank you!

He started off the next day by making best friends with Meadow Pederson.

Off to work as a Prep Cook,

A tough choice for Julien when he lost a quarter of his lifetime savings with a bad decision.

It didn't affect his promotion chance though and he arrived home as a Sous Chef and brought co-worker Bruce Rauscher with him.

Julien walked back for another shift and this time returned home with Kaylynn Spitzig.

Now that Spring has arrived Julien can finally plant out some vegetable beds,

and start his own little Orchard.

On Friday after work Julien is an Executive Chef, he earned 10K and brought LaShawn Cameron home.

 Meadow came by too and joined what was a successful outing at Julien's house.

When Julien isn't working as a chef, or cooking for himself he is watching tv shows about cooking.

He also enjoys his garden.

On Saturday Julien accepted an invite to Oresha Family Dining downtown with Jason Menon, another co worker.

They had a fun time and tried out some different foods.

Julien ends the week by getting a promotion care of his friendship and recent outing with Meadow, he is a Restauranteur and can sense the top of the career looming fast! But that will have to wait until next round.

Summary-

Julien was quite fun to play if a little one track minded. To be fair he did make plenty of friends this week, whether he can get them all to best friend level is to be seen!

No romantic wishes for Julien, I guess he's all about the Cuisine.

Contrary Family

Here we are in Desiderata Valley once more, this time at the Contrary Household comprising of Edward & Opal and their teenage son Rick.

They live in this modest but spacious bungalow.

It's roomy enough for this small family.

Edward and Opal are Knowledge Sims who both wished to become the Hand of Poseidon, they find their jobs and set off immediately as Rick (a Fortune Sim) goes to school. Currently his dream is to be a Hall of Famer but we'll see how that goes as he grows.

The Traveller's and Julien Cooke came to welcome the (absent) family but Julien got chased right off the lot by a wolf. 

Who then came back and had a go at Trisha, she stood her ground though.

 Rick watched it all out of the school bus window as he arrived home and invited Trisha and Trent inside.

Not for long though as a special guest was invited for dinner, both Rick and his parents wished for a private school education.

Wish granted. :)

Edward helped his son with a particularly tricky mathematical equation and from this point Rick should find his homework a breeze.

My Sims always want to fill their fishtanks... with invisible fish it seems. 

Rick got himself a teen job as he wanted to start earning money for college.

Both Edward and Opal got a promotion on Tuesday.

Opal invited their good friends The Jocque family over for dinner that night.

Rick impressed at his new job and ended up top of career after the first shift. 

He had a laugh gossiping to his friend Violet about yesterday when he met The Traveller's.

As is usual in the evenings the family settle to get various skills, Opal and Edward for their jobs and Rick because he likes cooking so much.

On Wednesday Edward got fired when he made a bad decision at work. 

He found the career in the paper but has a day off before he starts again.

Being a neat freak it gave him a good excuse to give the house a good once over.

Then he went out to the yard to clear away the leaves.

A storm blew in and a tree set alight... no damage done except to give Edward and a stray wolf a scare.

Opal is a Sea Lice Researcher. Sounds fun. :D

Once again Violet is here with Rick, there are no romantic thoughts certainly on Rick's part anyway.

Still Violet is his best buddy and when the opportunity to sneak out arises, he can't say No!

Thankfully they weren't busted and Rick managed to sneak back in at 4am, right by his unsuspecting parents' window.

He made omelettes for breakfast as he didn't want his parents to see how tired he was and guess as to why. 

To be honest Rick they are so dull I don't think they'd notice anyway.  

On Friday Opal became an Underwater Demolitionist and Edward a Dive Master.

Work those body skills Opal.

Rick met Ginger Newson and invited her in for his famous spaghetti.

He spent some time stargazing later that night.

On Saturday as his parents were at work Rick decided to go to the Sports Park in the Valley.

He met and befriended a fellow teen, Komei Dennis,

served up some Ribs on the outdoor grill,

bought a potion... maybe a love potion? It'll come in useful down the line I'm sure.

Then Rick just chilled in the pool,

until Komei almost landed on him! 

Back home and Opal is now a Marine Biologist. No promo for Edward.

On Sunday Edward caught up with some friends on the 'phone.

Rick served up spaghetti... again... but got himself a scholarship for college in doing so.

His parents skill... and skill.

and Rick headed to bed dreaming of the day he can leave for college.

Summary.

Not the most exciting week here, Rick keeps changing back and forth for college and his skills are a bit low so hopefully he'll go next round, if not for himself then for me. :D

His parents literally wished to skill which was fine for their careers but not too enthralling!

I even used the batbox to try and roll new wishes but they kept wishing for the same thing.

Although Rick spent lots of time with Violet and some with Ginger he is yet to show any romantic wishes.

Next we're off to visit Julien Cooke, but not the one here that the wolf scared off... I'm playing the version of him in Riverblossom Hills as it's the only 'hood I've yet to play.
