Daniel Bell- Freshman Year

 

We've jumped from the Bell family home to Académie Le Tour to see how the Bells' son Daniel is doing in his first year of University.

Daniel is lodging in a dorm with Pauline Aspir and former paperkid Justus Landry (Daniel is the one in the bandana) to all start their Freshman year together.

They are here in this 9 room dorm, I altered it slightly before they moved in.

I removed the outdoor area which was in the middle of the living/kitchen area to give them more space throughout that area.

Here they are having a first meal with 3 other dormies.

Pauline welcomed the remaining 3 students as they arrived.

Pauline is a Family Sim who wishes to be top of the Dance career, she is majoring in Drama.

Daniel is a Popularity Sim who wishes to be a Prestidigitator, that is to be top of the Entertainment career. He chose Art as his Major and is happily meeting and greeting anyone new who comes into the dorm such as one of the resident cheerleaders.

This is Justus' facial expression when he is asked to clean up after himself! He is a very sloppy Romance Sim who wishes to have 20 loves.

Daniel wants to paint a masterpiece and is close to maxing his Creativity skill.

Justus knuckled down and learnt Physiology.

I thought it would put him in a good enough mood to change his aspiration, but he ended up a grilled cheese sim.

Daniel's day got off to a better start when he made his 10th best friend.

Justus went off to his class (Literature) whilst Pauline cleared some leaves that had fallen in this Autumn season.

After class they visited one of the campus lots so Justus could join them getting a mobile phone and made some new acquaintances, though no one likes to talk about Grilled cheese so far :(

Pauline, who loves to cook made a nice supper for them all,

They finished their first Semester top of their respective classes.

I've never really observed the students when they write an assignment but it's quite amusing- lots of head scratching, thinking and erasing before the assignment is complete. 

While the others were working their brains Dan was working his body into super fitness.

Assignment complete for Justus which put him into a good enough mood to try again for a new aspiration- he's a Popularity Sim now with a LTW to be a Media Magnate.

I'd had hopes of Pauline and Justus continuing their teen romance while at college but so far no interest has been shown on either side.

Pauline decided to change her hairstyle/colour and wear some makeup.

Daniel certainly noticed, he started throwing hearts out for Pauline.

Dan and Justus made best friends.

Justus met a new secret society friend, no one so far has been inducted but he may be the first as he now has 2 SS friends.

Dan got a nice boost of aspiration when he sold a masterpiece.

The three dormies visited a newly refurbished diner called Pinks.

Poor Pauline was wearing her salad even though I'm pretty sure she ordered chicken. :D

She didn't look too thrilled at having to pay for her next dinner. Should've had a discount surely?

Randomly as I was watching what Justus was up to Dan and Pauline autonomously fell in love! Who says we're in control?!

All that falling in love and food throwing made Pauline extra hungry so she whipped up some Crepes while Dan distracted the dorm cook when they were back.

and their final exam for the year brings this chapter to a close.  Freshman Year done! :)

Summary-

Well that was very random Dan and Pauline falling in love, poor Justus but he never showed any interest in Pauline either. We'll be back for a second year when it's Justus' turn (Landry) on the alphabetical list. By the way I never changed Justus' look at all, he grew up from clean cut paper kid to fairly hot moustached YA. ;D

The Bell Family- Round 2

 

Here we are moved to Desiderata Valley to drop in on the Bell Family. It's Isaac & Hannah and their young son Barty. (Daniel moved to college last round). Also living here is Sharon Wirth (Hannah's sister) and her husband Mitch.

Not for long though as I decided Sharon & Mitch can have their own story so they left and bought a little house where we will catch up with them much later in the round!

Both Hannah & Isaac wish to be World Class Ballet Dancers and today is Monday, they won't be at work until Thursday which gives them time to get the skills and friendships they need to ensure promotions to the top.

Strangely for a child born into the game Barty already has a lifetime wish to be a Criminal Mastermind.

Today Hannah greeted Alec Parker.

Then worked on skills all day alongside her (just out of shot) husband.

In Barty's newly refurbished room he got homework help from his Dad.

Tuesday was a rinse/repeat of school and skills so after school the family went to the Frippery Frock where they enjoyed some snacks and met some new neighbours.

They look Summery in their new outfits although a Summer storm began once they arrived home.

On Wednesday before school Barty and his Mum earned a cooking skill.

Isaac maxed his body skill.

and he and Hannah snuck a moment in while Barty was at school. ;)

On Thursday before work the Aspir's came by, Hannah and Elizabeth are besties.

Then Hannah met Jill Fleig while Isaac met the postie Ratna.

The summer storm struck again as Hannah had just fulfilled a big wish,

A puppy! They adopted him from the pool, he was called Leroy but they changed his name to Spark.

Just then it was time for the adults to leave for work but Barty was home (and a Nanny) and he too had wished for a puppy so was very happy indeed.

It didn't take long for Barty and Spark to be friends and they played together until bedtime.

Then it was home time for the adults and they came with big dreams fulfilled! Both LTW's completed.

They have 3 days until elder now so got those in just in time!

On Friday Barty made friends with Steffi Smith the papergirl before school. He's not bought a single friend home from school this week so I guess he's either serious or not nice.

Although he's only been here a day Spark had a birthday,

Here he is, he's a strange mix of what looks like a Labrador's head on a Rottweiler's (or maybe Doberman?) body.

Thankfully Isaac was home to teach him what was a good trait, (housebroken)

and what was bad! (digging!)

On Saturday the family went to Pepe's Pet Store for a dog collar but Hannah found Spark outside having just beaten up a much smaller dog. Worse Hannah was cheering him on!

He did eventually come indoors to have his new collar fitted.

They went straight from the Pet store to Greaves Greener Gardens where they fished and made some new contacts.

Later on Saturday Barty had his friends Rafael & Alejandro Aspir over for the whole afternoon until their parents picked them up for staying out past curfew.

He and his parents spent a fun evening working on their dance moves.

On Sunday morning it was a Triple birthday celebration! 

Barty is a teenager and rolled Fortune. As I mentioned his LTW was already to be a Criminal Mastermind and that hasn't changed.

Then it was Hannah's turn- she spun into Elderhood.

Followed by her husband Isaac.

The party was a great success and finished just as Hannah and Isaac had to leave for work.

Barty used the time to go downtown and buy a phone and meet some people.  Who is the Vampire Contessa in love with back there? John Mole? Guess we'll find out eventually. :D

Barty also bought himself FIFA, because he's a teen. :D

Back at home he'd asked Annie on a date, they'd met earlier and he found her attractive upon scoping the room.

It was a good date but they only had 1 bolt and he's young . :D

which means he'd rather play FIFA, once he's finished fixing the pc.

Being a Fortune Sim Barty wished for college and so the last thing he did before the week ended was to call for scholarships, he earned the Sim City Scholar's Grant, the Bui Engineering Grant and the Tsang Footwork Grant, so far anyway! 

Summary- This was a good week for the Bell's, it felt a long 4 days for the adults before they went to work but they needed the time to skill so really spent most of their week doing that.

The Puppy was wished for by both Barty and Hannah and so I relented - but mainly because I needed Hannah in Platinum for work :D
